Sustainability & Conscious Leadership
At Thorp Coaching, we believe that great leadership and strong organisations go hand in hand with responsible stewardship of our environment and communities. Working with Emma means you’re not only investing in exceptional coaching and development — you’re supporting a broader purpose that aligns with ESG values and sustainable impact.
Supporting the Ashdown Forest
Emma is the only professional coach licensed to work within the beautiful Ashdown Forest — a precious natural space she’s deeply committed to protecting. She pays a licence fee and regularly donates to the Ashdown Forest Foundation, supporting vital conservation and restoration efforts.
Emma also volunteers as a Warden and organises fundraising events, with all profits going directly to the Ashdown Forest Foundation. (Sign up to our mailing list to hear about upcoming activities.) This hands-on involvement means that when you work with Thorp Coaching, you’re helping preserve this unique ecosystem and support community wellbeing.
How You Can Help
The Ashdown Forest relies on donations and community support to continue its vital conservation efforts. If you believe in the power of nature to restore, inspire, and heal, please consider making a donation to the Ashdown Forest Foundation. Every contribution helps protect this unique environment for generations to come.

Commitment to Sustainable Practices
We prioritise working with local suppliers for retreat catering, sourcing organic, seasonal, and ethically produced food to minimise our environmental footprint. Our meat is all ethically sourced and local — including forest-shot venison and pork from a farm just down the road.
Sustainability is woven into every part of the Thorp Coaching experience — from the venue and meals to reconnecting you with the natural landscape — ensuring your coaching investment supports not only your personal growth but also the health of our planet.
Thorp Coaching is proud to be a member of the Climate Coaching Alliance, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility and positive climate action.

Diverse Directors Programme & Social Impact
Emma co-founded the Diverse Directors Programme (DDP) — an initiative empowering underrepresented leaders to step confidently into board roles and foster greater diversity and inclusion in leadership.
While DDP is a separate programme, it reflects the same core values that underpin Thorp Coaching: connection, authenticity, and making leadership more representative of our communities and sectors.
Emma is also a passionate advocate for neurodiversity, championing inclusive leadership that embraces diverse thinking and ways of working.

Volunteering with Rescue Remedies
Emma is also a passionate volunteer with Rescue Remedies, a local dog rescue charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs in need. Her time and support help improve animal welfare in the community and offer hope to vulnerable animals.
Your engagement with Thorp Coaching indirectly supports this cause through Emma’s ongoing commitment and advocacy.
