Step Away to Move Forward
Sometimes, the best way to figure out what’s next is to step away from the noise. Forest Revival is a quiet, purpose-built space in the Ashdown Forest, designed to give you the time, headspace, and perspective to think clearly, reset, and move forward with intention.
These solo retreats offer a mix of coaching, guided reflection, time in nature, and hands-on experiences—ideal for leaders, founders, and professionals who need to decompress, work through a challenge, or simply take a step back to think.
Whether you’re looking for a standalone retreat or want to kick-start a longer coaching journey, this is a space to slow down, gain clarity, and figure out your next steps—without distractions.
Who It’s For
Leaders, founders, and professionals feeling stretched thin
Anyone navigating change, transition, or uncertainty
People who need time to process a big decision or challenge
Those who want to reconnect with themselves away from work and life pressures
This isn’t a luxury spa weekend or a generic leadership retreat—it’s a quiet, supportive space where you can think, reflect, and leave with real clarity.
What to Expect
There’s no rigid itinerary—you’ll have the space to shape your retreat in a way that works for you. But typically, a Forest Revival retreat includes:
1:1 coaching sessions to help you make sense of things and move forward
Guided nature walks —because sometimes the best thinking happens while moving
Holistic therapies like lymphatic massage or reflexology to support relaxation and renewal
Locally sourced food—experiment with new recipes in our beautiful kitchen, using our take on a recipe box experience
Plenty of quiet time to decompress, reflect, and just be
You won’t be stuck in a conference room staring at slides. Coaching happens outdoors, in conversation, in movement, and in reflection.

Tom Forward
Ecologist & Wildlife Guide
Born on the edge of the Ashdown Forest, Tom spent his childhood exploring its woodlands, ghyll streams, bogs, and heaths, searching for deer, snakes, and birds of prey. The freedom to roam this special landscape sparked a lifelong passion for wildlife conservation and led him to a career as an ecologist and environmental educator.
With a degree in Environmental Management and 20 years of experience, Tom has worked in diverse ecological roles, including at Gurukula Botanical Sanctuary in southern India, the Field Studies Council, Sussex Wildlife Trust, and Commonwork Trust. A true all-round naturalist, he brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to every visitor experience.
Now living on the Ashdown Forest, Tom works as an independent ecologist and wildlife guide, leading experiences across Sussex, Surrey, and Kent, including at the Knepp Estate (renowned for its rewilding project), Royal Botanic Gardens Kew at Wakehurst, and Bore Place Organic Farm. He also co-produces the Ashdown Forest Podcast with audio producer Eka Morgan, celebrating the richness of this remarkable 10-square-mile landscape.
"The Ashdown Forest hosts some fantastic wildlife, from rare plants and insects to secretive reptiles and elusive birds, all set against sweeping views over the High Weald and beyond. There’s nothing I enjoy more than helping visitors tune into the landscape—opening their eyes and ears to its beauty, leaving them with a deeper appreciation and a truly memorable experience."
